What makeup products are good for the smokey eye look?

I am wanting to get the smokey eye look. I wear black eyeliner normally, but never any shadow or anything for the smokey look. I watched some tutorials on youtube, but they all use mac products. I need products available at local drugstores, wal mart, ect (loreal, rimmel, ect). What are the best products and must haves to achieve this look? like what color and brand of eyeshadows, what kind of brushes, and liquid or pencil eyeliner? thanks!!What makeup products are good for the smokey eye look?
Try looking for premade kits for smokey eye in the drugstores or stores you mentioned. Don't try to go too ';cheap'; or the quality of the makeup might not last or blend as well as the ';better'; stuff. I know rimmel Colour Rush Quad Eyeshadow has some really good eye shadow sets that have the colors you need for a traditional smokey eye as well as Loreal(Loreal Smokey Eyeshadow Quad).I would really suggest for you to try to get a kit from a store such as Sephora or Ulta if you can, if not, you can always shop with them online and return the product. Try using a charcoal color rather than black when you are blending towards your eyebrow, its easier to apply more for darkness or work down into a lighter color than starting out with black.

You also don't have to use charcoal/black colors. The new thing this season is having a colored smokey eye (examples ashy greens and purples) They make your eyes pop out more.

Here are some products I suggest (you can always try to get similar colors at the drugstore)

Too Faced Smoky Eyes Palette

Bare Essentials Smokey eye Tutorial

Stila Smoky Eye Palette

Target has a good line

Sonia Kashuk Eye Shadow Quad-smoke in your eyes

I like her eyeshadows, theyre silky and color well, its only ten bucks if you dont have much to spend. What makeup products are good for the smokey eye look?
I don't use drugstore stuff (ever!!), so I don't have recommendations there. But I would try the Stila ';Runway Look'; palette. It's super cheap ($40 and comes with three shadows and a liner - so only $10 for each piece!!!), you can get it at Sephora, and I love the colors. Use the first color all over your lid, the second to your crease, and the third in your crease. I also use the third to line the bottom. You can also use the first all over, third to your crease, and second in your crease for a soft, cool look. Also, add mascara and a bit of the first color on the inside corners of your eyes to brighten them. And you don't really need to use the pencil liner, but you could in your outside corners for drama.

I hope this helps!
You can achieve the smoky eyed look using any range of cheaper drugstore products. MAC is a fantastic brand but so are many others...

If you search google or youtube and type in MAC DUPES....you will find sooo many suggestions for other brands to substitute the MAC with.

Brands like Milani, NYX, Wet'n'Wild, Jordana, ELF etc.....I'd personally recommend products from NYX and Milani. Another fantastic choice is visit coastalscents.com and view the palettes....the 28 Neutral and 88 Matte are excellant value for money and pigmentation and colour choice is outstanding.
cover girl work really well also blend the color with a good brush. I like to use both liquid and pencil liner first the pencil than I just wing it with liquid liner so it looks neat. I hope this helps.
um you can mix a little bite of black and gray and maybe a little blue or red it depends on what color your eyes are.
